1.         Introduction

YubiKey Authenticator is an application that generates secure codes and to be used when you log on to a service that requires two-factor authentication.

2.         Objective(s)

This user guide describes how to use YubiKey Authenticator and add a service to the key.

3.         Applicability

Applicable to YubiKey Authenticator users.

5.         Instructions

5.1   Click on the link to open the Yubico Authenticator - https://www.yubico.com/products/yubico-authenticator/#h-download-yubico-authenticator.

 

 

5.2   Scroll to the near bottom of the page - Under Windows - click on Download from Microsoft app store link.

 

5.3   Click on the Download button and wait for it to finish the installation.

 

 

5.4   Open the Yubico Authenticator and insert the Yubikey into the USB slot.

 

 

 

5.5   There are two options on how to use the Navigation Bar on the YubiKey Authenticator page.

5.5.1         Expand Navigation Bar

 

 

 

5.5.2         Collapse Navigation Bar

 

5.6   There are two options on how to use the Toggle Menu Bar on the YubiKey Authenticator page.

5.7   Send an email to Human Resources to reset your Salesforce (HRIS Application) MFA before proceeding to the next step.

 

5.8 To register HRIS Application to YubiKey Authenticator, do the following:

5.8          

5.8.1         Go to Accounts

 

5.8.2         Click on Add Account under Setup on the right side of the page

 

 

5.8.3         Open HRIS Application Login Page

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5.8.4         Click on the “Use verification codes from an authenticator app (such as Goole Authenticator or Authy)” verification method button and hit the continue button

 

 

5.8.5         There are two options to register the HRIS Application to YubiKey: Scan QR Code or Enter Manually

 

5.8.5.1    Make sure to have both YubiKey Authenticator and HRIS application windows side by side because the QR Code from the HRIS application window must be fully visible.

 

5.8.5.2    Click on the Scan QR code from YubiKey Authenticator Window, and it will automatically populate the details. Click on Save when finished.

 

5.8.5.3    To enter the fields manually, do the following then click on Save when finished:

5.8.5.3.1          Issue (Optional) – Name of the application

5.8.5.3.2          Account Name – your email address

5.8.5.3.3          Secret Key – copy and paste the key from I Can’t Scan the QR Code link within the HRIS Application.

 

 

5.8.5.4    Newly created account will be shown in the YubiKey Authenticator main page            

 

5.8.5.5    To verify the HRIS Application, grab the code generated from YubiKey Authenticator and populate it in the Verification Code field. Click the Connect button.

5.8.5.6       To verify your identity within HRIS Application, grab the generated code from YubiKey Authenticator and populate it in the code field. Click on the Verify button and you will be redirected to the HRIS home page.
